 The purpose of our collaborative research is to explore the most significant ways in which streaming high schools inhibit inclusivity. negative impacts include: unequal career, educational, and life opportunities for Applied Academic stream students; (Ontario Educators, 2023); social hierarchies/divisions (Hallan & Ireson, 2006); differences mental health supports; inequitable intellectual expectations based on race, gender, socioeconomic position (Barry et al., 2022). Findings suggest that educators can improve experiences student inclusivity by emphasizing focus learning setting needs rather than streams. Teacher Education programs emphasize cultural competence differentiated instruction. Governments continue dismantle streams developing new accessible inclusive curricula utilizing a variety assessment approaches systemic discrimination marginalizes Black, Indigenous, racialized, low-income, disabled, special students.
